So I just moved to a new city for school and ppl keep pointing out my accent. It’s like every convo they have to mention it… kinda tired of it. Just because I sound different doesn’t mean I don’t belong here.
Ugh, that sounds so frustrating. People can be really weird about accents, like why does it even matter?? You’re there for school, not to entertain them with your voice. I’ve been there too, and I ended up just telling them like “yeah I sound different, but I’m still me, so let’s move on.” Maybe it’ll make them think twice before pointing it out again, ya know?
